State of America= Danger Level

While Rome burned Nero slept. Today as America burns Congress sleeps.
What we are witnessing today is no different than what we experienced during the Carter administration of the 70s. The only thing Congress and the administration could do then was blame the American people for consuming and wasting too much energy (gas). At the time America imported less than 1/3 of our oil from foreign countries. Today we import over 1/2 of our oil from foreign countries. Whose really to blame? Congress, our courts and the environmentalist that have steadfastly refused to allow drilling for our own oil to be used by America for America.

The answer for lowering high cost at the pumps is not alternative fuels or consuming less. It is today the same as it was in the 70s, allow for an increase in supply to satisfy the demand. Calls by Congress for an increase in technology and an increase in alternative fuels is the same old rhetoric we heard from the Carter administration. It did nothing then and will do nothing today except cause a drop in American production and lead to a higher unemployment rate.

While Congress wraps itself around the upcoming presidential election, they seem content to continue to do nothing but blame someone else for their failures. Their answer to our problems is simply hold hearings to blame Corporate America, Rural and Suburban Americans that drive SUV s or pickup trucks, President Bush and the American consumer. Being self reliant on our own domestic oil has no place in the minds of this Democratic led Congress, the same way it has been rejected ever since the Carter Administration.

Terrorist and Countries that sponsor terrorist have figured out they cannot beat America on the battlefield and with this President they cannot successfully attack us at home. They have figured out they can brings to our knees by attacking our economy. What is the best way to destroy the American economy? The answer is simple, attack our oil supply. They know America is so divided on the issue of domestic drilling and being free from foreign oil dependence, that we will sit by and watch our country fall into a 30s style Depression before we will risk drilling in our own country or even offshore. They are sitting in their caves and palaces laughing as China drills 60 miles from Miami, Fl. Iran is currently filling tankers and stock piling oil off their coast. Venezuela has reduced it's supply to America. Russia is keeping more of their supplies at home for domestic use. Mexico and Canada cannot keep up with the added burden created by these countries keeping their oil off the world market. Saudi Arabia is so afraid of Iran they will not increase production. The speculators investing in oil on wallstreet are getting rich.

We grew up expecting the 21st century to be a technological world full of new and wondrous inventions that would free us from the combustion engines and an oil based economy. It didn't happen as we entered the 21st century and it will not happen in the near future. There are no batteries capable of sustaining electric cars that will stand up to the type of driving required by the American consumer or commercial industry. Countries and inventors around the world have been trying for 100 years to design a battery that can withstand repeated charging and the natural drain from a change in temperature. If you try to drive an electric car in temperatures less than 40 degrees Fahrenheit you will find the distance you can drive will be cut in half. If you try to operate it in mountainous or rough terrain areas the same will apply.

The great Alternative fuel debate. Ethanol is really nothing more than our grandfathers moonshine. Did it work in his car, yes to some extent. The older cast iron leaded engines could withstand a lot more than aluminum cast lead free engines we use today. The difference with ethanol and our grandfathers moonshine is simply the water content between the two. Moonshine is made and distilled with the very same ingredients as ethanol. Ethanol is simply taken one step further until all the water has been taken out leaving pure ethanol capable of mixing with gas. Because ethanol burns at such a higher temperature and is more flammable than lead free gas, it is unlawful to operate a vehicle in America on 100% ethanol. Filling a vehicle with pure ethanol is like placing a bomb in you car and hoping you don't get into an accident. Adding more than 20% of ethanol to gas will eventually destroy a lead free engine in American cars. Add the cost to our food supply by using corn or sugar and yeast to create ethanol and the only people that gain from it are farmers, not American but foreign producers because America can never produce enough to keep up with the demand.

All the other alternative fuel ideas are 30 years or more into the future before they can become readily available. American industry and the transportation system in America cannot change from oil and petroleum products in less than 30 years. To believe we can overnight completely eliminate the combustion engine and replace it with some futuristic engine that does not rely on a petroleum based fuel is like believing Alice In Wonderland was fact and not fiction. If you want to see the price at the pumps come down, open up America to domestic drilling. If you want to see America continue to slide toward Depression, continue on our current path.

The state of America is at a danger level today, if the price of oil continues to increase we could see the level fall to catastrophic within the next 90 days. Is this what Congress is hoping for just so it will help in the fall election? You tell me.

Appeasing Our Enemies

By sitting down with leaders that are sworn enemies of America and Israel we are doing nothing less than giving in to our enemies. If Barack Obama believes he can somehow persuade dictators and radical religious fanatics to simply change their views by personally negotiating with him, then he is far more arrogant and naive than I ever could imagine one man could be. For no other reason we must support John McCain and stop the surrender.

Obama Just Another Jimmy Carter?

After learning more about the people in Barack Obama's past, I finally understand his commitment to meet with enemies of America and leaders of terrorist states. He has been meeting with and using homegrown enemies of America for a large portion of his political career. I understand his decision to use previous members of the Weather Underground and Pastor Wright to advance his political career, but it doesn't make it right.

The more I hear from Obama leaves me to question, Are we getting ready to elect another Jimmy Carter?

Young voters today have no idea of how bad it was during the Carter years. The media and most college professors gloss over this period in time. Those of us that made the mistake of voting for him remember vividly how weak this man really was and the damage to America's security he caused by backing down to every terrorist organization that challenged us during his presidency.

Since President Carter left office he has traveled the world meeting with every leader that is Anti-American and Anti-Israel. Now he is meeting with the leader of Hamas. An organization that not only America but most of the free world has declared a terrorist organization. Carter's speeches and actions have done nothing but undercut American security and encouraged hatred for both America and Israel form the time he was elected to present date. I fear if we elect Sen Obama we will be revisiting the Carter presidency for the next 4 years. With the world teetering on another world war we better ask ourselves if we can afford another Carter Administration.

Support America, Back To Basics

With the Christmas season coming up, isn't it time we as American parents and grandparents return to the basic idea of Christmas. With all of the recent recalls of Chinese products it should be apparent that buying products from China may put our loved ones health at risk. Regardless of how cheap these products are and how much we would love to make our kids happy with their favorite Xmas toy, the risk of buying from a country we cannot rust is just too great. No toy is worth risking our children's health.

It is my firm belief its time we got back to the basics of Christmas and American values. In the beginning the reason for Christmas was the celebration of the birth of Jesus. It was also meant to be a time for recommitting our love for family and friends. Somehow with the commercialization of Xmas we have put more significance on giving presents to make our children happy for the day, than we have on the reasons for celebrating Christmas. This time of celebration has always been considered as much of an American value as the American Constitution itself. In past wars, major battles have been halted to observe this very important day. Combatants didn't worry about buying gifts, instead they prayed for peace and celebrated the birth of Jesus by committing their trust in god.

By making a resolution to decommercialize Christmas this year, we can begin to return America to some its core values and avoid the risk to our children. Would not buying toys from China hurt our economy, maybe. But ask yourself what is more important, teaching our children moral values and reducing their risk to dangerous imported products or spending money that you may or may not be able to afford simply to make someone happy for one day.

I would suggest parents sit down with their children and explain the true meaning of Christmas and that buying expensive gifts and toys was never part of the Christmas celebration. Children must be taught that our love for one another cannot be bought with money or gifts. How many packages you have under the tree is not a test for how much someone loves you. A thousand dollar gift for a rich kid will bring the same smile as a handcrafted sweater from a poor mother to her child. As parents and grandparents it is only natural to want a better life for your kids and grandkids, but maybe we should re-evaluate how we were raised. We may find out that it really wasn't as bad as we remember it. Maybe the values our parents and grandparents tried to instill on us were simply forgotten with time.

Remember when there were just a few inexpensive gifts under the tree?
Remember when the gifts we were given were sometimes made at home by a loved one?
Remember when families chipped in to celebrate Xmas dinner at a loved one's home?
Remember when adults, children and friends set around singing carols?
Remember when schools sponsored the Christmas Carol Play and all parents and friends were invited to watch?
Remember when family traditions were passed from generation to generation?
Remember when neighbors got together and walked the neighborhood singing Xmas carols?
Remember when Merry Christmas and God Bless meant something in America?

With all the threats facing our family, economy and country a threat to our children from China is a threat we can do without. Maybe it's time we look back at the values of our greatest generation with a little more respect and admiration. Maybe it's time we got back to the basics of America.

56 Men

by Ronnie Spangler

We that sign this writ for relief
Do affirm and attest to our common belief.
To all mankind Our Creator bestowed
Seeds of freedom to plant, water and hoe.

And from these seeds a Nation will rise,
Not one that lives through hate and lies,
But one that sees through God’s own eyes.

As one young boy stood all alone,
With nothing more than sling and stone,
We free men stand today
And state our will to never stray.
We will fight if we must,
For its with God we place our trust.

Now as we let our names be known,
We do not believe we stand alone.
For all mankind desires to be free,
and spared from one man’s tyranny.

As we venture forth our plight
Be it known we will unite.
To destroy evil when we can,
Or except God’s will and understand.

Soviet Union Resurrection?

Among other things in my book written in 2006, I predicted Vladimir Putin would not only retain control of Russia but consolidate the office of President and Prime Minister. With recent reports coming out of Russia I wonder if a book of fiction is becoming reality.

Excerpt from my book ".....the offices of President and Prime Minister were combined into the current Supreme Command Chairman position with Vladimir Putin continuing as head of state. Reminiscent of the old Soviet Union, Chairman Putin sealed the borders, resurrected the KGB, nationalized all forms of media and passed new legislation......."

With recent reports in the news on statements made by Mr Putin, plus his visit to Iran, I have to wonder if we are witnessing the reemergence of the Soviet Union. If we are how will it effect events in the Middle East and around the world?Amazon.com

In My Father's Time

In my father's time
words used to mean much more
than just some talk behind a door.
Words of pride they all agreed,
were words like God, Country and Family.
Now as we live in a world of crime,
How I wish for my father's time.

They fought their war til victory's end
Returned back home to begin again.
They never asked to be repaid
for all the lives they may have saved.
They sacrificed and went to history,
the fathers that kept our nation free.

They never questioned is this right
they simply joined in freedom's fight.
They held their heads up on high,
whenever Old Glory should happened by.
They taught their kids to understand,
how much these words mean to man.
Sons followed in their father's way,
others were lost and began to stray.

Today America must unite,
and join together in this fight.
For all our fathers that came before,
Our faith in God, America and Family we must restore.

The following is an excerpt from my book Final Conflict The Last American Journal of Eddie Johnson. I wrote it in 2006 but I believe it will be true for some time to come.

Traveling Down This Rocky Trail

As we travel down this rocky trail,
Will our leaders succeed or fail?
Will our country finally unite?
And follow our leader in this fight.
Will we travel all alone?
Will we fall on every stone?
Will God look down with sorrow and say?

"If only they could remember how to pray.
I heard you in your hour of need,
But they were simply prayers of greed.
You asked that I should lead the way,
But failed to hear the words I say.
To hear these words you must repent,
Then open your hearts to the son I sent.
Your faith in me and my son
will lead your way to act as one.
Open up your heart and mind
Guidance, comfort and peace on earth
You will find.
I heard your children weep and pray
Still your nation looked away.
Now you wander if I'm gone,
and if you're on this path alone.
If you place your faith in me
The answer's here for you to see."

America- Could Our Military be Safer in Iraq

Below is the FBI's table of reported crimes in America covering the same period of time we have been in Iraq up to 2006;

Looking at the numbers and considering Americans are not fighting one another within our own borders, ask yourself just how bad is it going in Iraq.

Year Violent Crime/ Murder / Rape/ / Robbery/// Assault
2003 /1,383,676/ / 16,528// 93,883//414,235 ///859,030
2004 /1,360,088// 16,148// 95,089// 401,470 ///847,381
2005 /1,390,745// 16,740// 94,347// 417,438 /// 862,220
2006 /1,417,745// 17,034// 92,455// 447,403 /// 860,853
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Total /5,552,254 //66,450//375,774//1,680,546//3,429,484

Remember these are only reported number of cases in the US. For a variety of reasons there are a large number of rapes, robberies, murders and other violent crimes that never get reported. So is it really safer in America and are we really doing so bad in Iraq? In a supposedly war free safe America why do we have over 66 thousand Americans murdered, over 375 thousand reported rapes, over 1 1/2 million robberies and over 3 million assaults? No, looking at the 2 situations I don't think we are doing all that bad in Iraq.

MOVEON.ORG and Gen Petraeus

Watching the the performance of our Congress during this week's report from General Petraeus has left me with a fair amount of shame for the way some in Congress treat our men and women in the military. It is clear the Democratic party is owned and operated by moveon.org. The front runner for the Presidential campaign in the Democrat Party has not only refused denounce the despicable add moveon.org ran in the far left Times newspaper, she had the nerve to call the General a liar on a nationally televised hearing. This is a woman, like most in Congress and the Senate, that believe they can visit Iraq for a couple of days, never venture out into the provinces and cities, but somehow learn more from their short isolated visits than the four star commander that is risking his life each and every day he is in Iraq. Who are we as average Americans going to believe more, the men and women that are in the fight every day or the politicians sitting safe in America that care more for their political careers than winning the battle for Iraq? Personally I will put my trust in the men and women in uniform before the politician.

The far left organizations like moveon.org, code pink and the rest of the far left Democrats spout everyday how much they are in support of our troops, yet they spill more American blood on their hands everytime they encourage our enemies with protests and adds like the one ran in the New York Times. Try to imagine how the soldier in Iraq felt hearing their Commander called a liar by a candidate for President of the United States. After hearing General Patraeus is a liar and traitor should any soldier trust or fight for such a man? If you were wearing the uniform would you risk your life for such a man?

If you were the enemy fighting against America, how would you interpret the words of Senator Clinton? Would this be a sign of encouragement that victory was close at hand? Would you see it as a sign that America was getting ready to cut and run from Iraq? Would you see it as a signal to increase the killing of Americans in order to force the American Congress to cut funding for the war? Would it lead you to believe that if you just increase the killing it will increase the division in America and they will retreat?

These are questions the far left and the Democratic candidates don't consider when they open their mouths. Why don't they consider them? The answer is clear, they simply don't care about the men and women in uniform. They don't care about winning in Iraq. They don't care about the thousands maybe millions of Iraqi babies, children and adults that will be slaughtered if we fail in Iraq. The only thing these people care about is winning in '08. How can the American voter trust anyone that puts their own self interest above the interest of the men and women in uniform during a time of war? In the end they are putting their self interest above the interest of America.

For too long the war in Iraq has been looked at as if it was a game, the politicians have even referred to it using football terminology. Some of the news organizations refer to the change in the President and military strategy of fighting this war as "moving the goal post". This is not a game, it is dead serious with ramifications that far exceed the Cold War. That was a war between two nuclear powers that knew the consequences of using nuclear weapons. This is a religious idealogical war declared on us by fanatics that believe in using all means possible, including nuclear, to achieve their vision of victory.

It is time for the average American to send Congress a message. Stop helping our enemies and really get behind our troops. They have said they can win, let them do it!
