Buying American Products

Today Americans are spending less for good reason. With so much uncertainty in the economy and American businesses going bankrupt people are afraid. We blame our government, corporations, banks and wall street. We believe there is nothing we can do.

With most of the consumer products we purchase coming from China and Mexico, we unwittingly are contributing to a further decline in our economy. The American consumer is quick to complain that everything comes from China and for the most part it is true. Go into any store today, including auto parts, and most of what you find will say 'made in China'. It is cheap and plentiful and in today's economy we buy it mainly for this reason.

What if there was an alternative to buying everything from China?

Would Americans buy products from Americans made in America?

Would Americans buy products from mom and pop Americans?

Would Americans buy products that are hand crafted and made one item at a time?

Would Americans say enough to imports and support local mom and pop business?

In supporting these small and new American businesses would American consumers understand that as these people made and sold more products in America, they could hire fellow Americans to help grow their business?

Would Americans be willing to pay a little more and in some cases even less for American products that will last from one generation to the next, instead of at best six months to a year?

Believe it or not there are places where Americans can go to buy American made products that far exceeds anything we import. Most are online and the people that make and sell these products are to a large degree Americans. They are Americans that have lost their jobs, Americans that have taken early retirements because of corporate and even government restructuring, Americans whose previous employer moved overseas, and Americans whose employer filed bankruptcy. All of these Americans have one thing in common. They have a god given talent and the American know how to design and build products that will last.

Above everything else, American craftsmen and craftswomen take pride in things they make. They think first about quality. They know consumers long for products that will last for years and hopefully become something they can proudly pass on to their children. American craftsmen and craftswomen are also consumers and therefore make every effort to fulfill this longing.

Technology will not be the answer to turning around our economy. Government intervention with all of the corporate bail outs will not do it. We cannot wait for new technology or a new green economy to come online with all of the promised new jobs. Supporting small and new American entrepreneurs will be the only thing that will pull our economy out of the free fall we are witnessing. Keeping the dollar at home in America instead of supporting China and the other countries we import our goods from, is the best way of keeping America strong.

American consumers need to look around and see what is available today. I know it is hard to find products that are made in America but, if the consumer would be willing to look and trust their fellow American craftsmen/women they will be pleasantly surprised.

With so many computers in homes today ordering things online from American made shops is easy. With a little patience and time, you can find almost anything.

North Korea, China, America and Obama

With all of the threats and acts of war coming out of North Korea how will America, China and Obama react.

The answer is yet to be seen, but we can predict. Does anyone really believe North Korea is acting entirely on their own? Here is a country that depends solely on China for their very existence. It was not North Korea that pushed the American forces back to the 38th parallel during the Korean War, it was China. It was not solely North Korea that America negotiated with and reached a truce agreement during the long drawn out peace talks, it was China.

North Korea does nothing without China, so why does China allow them to create havoc in the world. They are testing Obama and America's influence in the world. China has never given up on the idea of reconciling Taiwan to the mainland, by force if need be. They tested Bush, now they are testing Obama.

Today they have a much better hand to play than they did during the Bush Administration. They basically own our economy and believe they can control Obama by simply threatening to force America into bankruptcy at any time. Could they, yes.

They have already voiced interest in dropping the dollar in the world market and replacing it with the yuan. The result would be an instant collapse of the dollar and the American market. Like a good puppet master China will use North Korea to test Obama and America's resolve to use military action if our allies are threatened. If North Korea renews military actions against South Korea and Obama appears to be weak, China will give Taiwan an ultimatum. Rejoin the mainland peacefully or be invaded. This time they will be serious.

China has not been quietly tripling its Naval and overall military strength over the last decade for no reason. They have not bought up America just because they thought they would prosper and become good friends with us. To the contrary they knew the only way they could ever gain influence in American foreign policy would be if in some way they could have influence in our economy. Now they believe America is so far in debt to them, we would never challenge them in their own ideas of foreign policy and how the world should look. Maybe they are right.

No matter how much the American media (CNN, NBC, CNBC, MSNBC, or Times) tries to build up the American economy by siting a turn around in the market, China and the American consumer see the truth. With higher unemployment, inflation and a weakening dollar the only thing that is keeping America from falling off the economic cliff is the price of oil. Now that is beginning to rise higher and higher.

So here is State_of_America's prediction for the near future.

Oil prices will continue to rise. Resulting in higher gas prices, higher transportation costs, higher prices for every consumer product, less consumer spending, higher unemployment and the economy falling deeper into the depression that the media refuses to recognize.

North Korea will test America and Obama with limited military attacks either at sea or with covert acts within South Korea.

China will act to reconcile Taiwan with the mainland.

China, Russia and Iran will join in an agreement stating an attack on one will be considered an attack on all.

North Korea will enter an alliance with Iran providing assistance with their quest for missile and nuclear power.

Obama will react by addressing the United Nations and trying to rally the western allies to assist America in stopping the obvious signs of aggression. China and Russia will react by devaluing the dollar and removing it as the global reserve currency.

Due to the economic devastation in the western nations caused by the total collapse of the dollar, our allies will be reluctant to take on this powerhouse trio. The way President Obama has treated our long time allies will also have a unhealthy effect on his cries for help. Britain will be the first to remind Obama how he embarrassed their queen and their country by going along with France and not inviting the queen to participate in the 65th D-Day Commemorations

Israel will react by reminding President Obama about his working behind the scenes to placate Iran at their expense. In the end the Western World will feel betrayed by Obama and worried about whether he can really be trusted.

American support for Obama will finally begin to wain and come to an end once he reinstates the draft. This however will be too little too late. With his naive belief that he is destined for greatness and is the savior for the free world another World War is inevitable. Israel feeling they are faced with total destruction and genocide by Iran will attack Iran's nuclear facilities sparking WWIII.

This is what America and the world is facing in the very near future. State_of_America believes this will become reality within the next few months and reach its peak by the summer of 2010.

President Obama Buyers Remorse

It is clear today there are a growing number of Obama supporters experiencing buyer's remorse. With every flip flop he makes his supporters become more and more disappointed and bewildered with their messiah.

It amazes me that it has taken so long for some of his supporters to recognize that President Obama is nothing more than a self interested career politician. He, along with Pelosi, Reid, Barney Frank, Chris Dodd, and the rest of the career politicians in the House and Senate, have done everything in their power to destroy America. Their reasons for following a path of total destruction of the American economy and in effect America, are many. The main reasons are simply greed and arrogance.

All of these people have fallen victim to one of the seven sins that will in the end destroy them. With their ever increasing greed for more power and control of the world they are beginning to self destruct. The really sad thing about the fall of the Obama dynasty? It will lead to the fall of America.

Because they have such an unbelievable amount of arrogance, their lack of common sense and stupidity has finally come to light. Unfortunately the media and hard core Obama supporters will never admit we are in danger of loosing the America our forefathers envisioned. Obama supporters will say we have already lost that America and it was the fault of the Bush Administration. Nothing could be farther from the truth.

The actual truth is hard to digest for the hard core Obama supporters, but here it is.

We are no longer in a recession, we are in another depression that will only get worse as each day, week and month passes by. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics the April 2009 unemployment rate reached 8.9 percent. The media has widely reported it but they also like to include the caveat that this number reflects a decrease from what was expected. The reality is the number continues to increase and if every unemployed person in America were truly counted, the number would be in the double digits. Businesses are failing and consumers are not buying. The American public is scared and getting angrier by the minute. Families are starting to fall apart due to the ever increasing economic pressure that is being forced upon them. The government is spending far more than they will ever receive in tax dollars without drastically increasing taxes. As they increase taxes more companies will lay off more people and the government will spend more in unemployment compensation. Their answer of printing more money and dumping more and more dollars into the market place is the recipe for inflation and the next Great Depression.

Unlike working people that see harder times coming their way and try to save as much as they can, this Administration and Congress continue to spend outrageous amounts of money making the dollar worthless to other countries around the world. The end result will be bankruptcy for America. This is nothing new, witness the former Soviet Union. They more than any other country in recent history proved that a central government having total control of the economy and involvement in running private industry is a disaster in the making and doomed to failure.

Why are they doing this? Are they really that stupid? The answer is yes and no. In their greed for more power and their arrogance in believing they have the answer for every question known to mankind, they think they can bring America to the edge of self destruction and at the very last moment pull her back as a better and more powerful nation. A nation consisting of a one party rule with the government running everything and having the answers for all the problems the world encounters. If you believe in this philosophy or idea then it is not stupid to believe you can make it happen. If you are so arrogant that you honestly believe you have the answers for, or the government is the answer to, all of the questions and problems facing the world then this is the natural path to follow.

If on the other hand you look back in history you will believe this idea to be stupid. Why, because you will find this is nothing new. Other world leaders have followed this path and led their countries to a complete and disastrous failure.

In the 20th century alone Mussolini, Hitler, Stalin and others believed in and followed this path. All of these people had one thing in common. They believed they had the answers to everything and they should control the thoughts and minds of the people they were leading. They did not believe in an individual's right to succeed or fail. They did not believe in an individual's right to question the path their government was taking. They did believe the people were too stupid to understand what was in the best interest of the country or the economy and well being of their nation. All or most of these leaders came to power during or after the Great Depression when most of the world was facing an economic collapse. They promised their people better times and a better way of life. By taking control of the market and nationalizing all of the industries, they had a short term success in turning around their economies. They built roads, bridges, city buildings, automobiles and in the case of Germany the biggest industry was military equipment. Everyone in one way or another worked for the government.

The problem with this type of Totalitarian or Socialist society is it never works. People want their right to succeed or fail. We want our right to question our government. We want to decide what path our country is taking and yes how much money our government is spending. We want to decide what our government spends our tax dollars on. We want to decide how much we our taxed and what should and should not be taxed. We want our representatives to read and know, so they can explain to us, the bills and laws they are passing in Congress. We want the media to be free from government influence and tell us the truth about what our elected officials are doing in our names. In other words we want to be the free and independent people that controls our government, not the people that are controlled by the government. We want the government and America that our forefathers envisioned.

Have the flip flops been too little, or is it too late for President Obama and his cohorts to change the future of America? I believe it is both too late and due to their unbelievable arrogance the question of right or wrong path has never entered their minds.

Can we the American people change our future and take control of a government that is hell bent on turning America into another Socialist failed state? Maybe. It all depends on us. Will we continue to stand in awl of a single individual because the media has ordained him to be the brightest, most intelligent and charismatic person in the world? Will we send a message through our elected officials telling Washington to stop the spending, stop the nationalization of private companies and industry, get out of the auto industry, drop the taxes and allow companies to compete, tell the rest of the world we are Americans and we are not that concerned about how you think we should treat terrorist, and finally we must send the message to reject the idea that we gave Washington a mandate to destroy America.

If Americans do not come together and act fast to get our message out, by the elections in 2010 it will be too late. With the looming bankruptcy facing GM (it will happen) and the astronomical inflation due to flooding the economy with cheap dollars the Depression we are feeling now will seem minor. The dollar will loose its AAA rating and the world market will turn away from a weak and devalued dollar. China, Iran and Russia will become economic partners and emerge as the new leaders of the world. In the end the western world will be facing another decision, fight to remain free or surrender to a new world order.

It is time to tell President Obama and Washington to stop being the puppet to their master George Soros and his billionaire friends. It is time to cut the strings and be the President and Congressmen who believe in a humble small government and recognize the American people are better prepared to run our economy than Washington. President Obama is a politician that makes his decisions more on polls and focus groups than anything else. It is time Americans let him know through his polling numbers that we do not like what we see and he must change course. In his interview on C-Span he finally admitted America is broke. This he cannot blame solely on the Bush Administration.

With a increase in gun sales and the worry of another gun ban being forced on Americans, it is no wonder the sales and interest in safe places to hide our weapons has also increased. Recession To Depression

In my last post dated Saturday, December 13, 2008, Recession, Inflation, Depression I stated we were already in a Recession.

"Old news, America is in a state of recession. During the national election no politician or media outlet wanted to face the fact. Everyone was too intent on making history and bringing about change in America."

After just 2 weeks with our new President Obama the situation has become worse with each passing day. With the House passing their devastating and Democrat only spending bill, and the Senate following in lockstep by adding a little more and freezing out the Republicans, we are at the threshold of another Great Depression.

I am sad to say that as I write this, I cannot help but feel my previous predictions for what lies ahead is fast approaching reality. I find it hard to believe we cannot learn from past mistakes. The honeymoon for the new President is quickly coming to an end. In fact, this will probably be the shortest honeymoon ever experienced by a United States President. The really sad thing for America is there is nothing that can be done to correct our mistake. You don't get a redo in selecting American Presidents, especially when you have Biden and Pelosi waiting in the wings.

I have to give President Obama credit for selecting Biden as Vice President. No matter how much Obama screws up and no matter how much deeper he drives us into Recession, Biden and Pelosi is certainly not the answer.

So what does America have to look forward to in 2009. With the passage of this Spending Bill and undoubtedly more spending before the summer ends, America like other countries around the world will hit double digit unemployment and most certainly end the year in a deep Depression.

As summer approaches and more Americans become unemployed we will probably witness more violence in our cities and the government will no doubt have the solution. The answer, a total ban on handguns and what the government decides to be assault rifles. Just like FDR did in the Great Depression, President Obama will give great speeches and create another series of New Deals. In the end the majority of Americans will be either government employees or will be receiving government subsidy checks. The country will be divided more between the haves and have not than at any time in history. With so many Americans depending on the government for their income and our government trying to run private business inflation will take over at an all time high. President Obama and Congress will nationalize most of the industries in America and the dollar will collapse. History shows that like FDR and his New Deals, government spending on top of government spending will not bring us out of a Recession.

By 2010 we will be living the same experience our fathers and grandfathers had to endure, another Worldwide Depression. The question is, will it take another World War II, to bring the world out of the 2nd Great Depression.

This does not have to be our future. If Congress and President Obama will only take a step back and look at history. History shows that like FDR and his New Deals, government spending on top of government spending will not bring us out of a Recession. Like FDR found out, the government does not create jobs or run a free economy. FDR tried Socialist programs and the Supreme Court stepped in, hopefully the Federal Courts in America will be up to the challenge of President Obama and a Democrat Congress that is flirting with Socialism today.

Old news, America is in a state of recession. During the national election no politician or media outlet wanted to face the fact. Everyone was too intent on making history and bringing about change in America. The so called experts in the economy and the media analyst that were so all knowing and paraded before the camera every night have now all but disappeared. They have been replaced with more experts that believe the government can solve the problem by simply spending our way out of debt. I am not an expert but this seems crazy.

What the experts are not saying is with unemployment rising and production of goods being cut to an all time low, prices will go up for the limited quantity of goods on the open market. In their effort to put more people back to work by recreating Depression Era programs our new President and Congress will feed the flames of inflation. The seeds have already been sewn by our current President and current Congress. President elect Obama, Speaker Pelosi, and Senator Reid are promising more of the same. With all of his good intentions and desire to relieve some of the suffering Americans are experiencing, President Bush has fallen into a trap. With or without his knowledge we are witnessing America turning into a Socialist State. It is no secret that Maxine Walters and others in Congress have always felt the government can run private business better than private business leaders. With help from our new Congress I fear George Soros' plan for a one world economy will only intensify with a Democrat President.

Every economist and politician you talk to blames the current economic crisis on the housing bubble and unwillingness of the banks to give out credit. Politicians except no responsibility for the home loans and relative ease of people to receive loans that were forced upon the banks by our government. While this was part of the problem it is not the only reason our economy is in the shape it is today. Think back to the days before the bubble busted. The cost of everything was steadily increasing. Some speculators jumped into the markets and started to use the markets for personal greed and political reasons. Billionaires and millionaires played the stock market through hedge funds to make millions and billions more with a total disregard for the future of the country or the economy. The very nature of any market is to gamble that you can buy low when stocks are down and sell them at a higher price or live off of the dividends. Nothing illegal but some speculators made a run on certain stocks and then put out some kind of rumor that led people to believe these stocks would have a drastic increase in value. As soon as the stocks reached a profitable enough margin to satisfy the speculators they would short sell all of their stocks and start all over again. Other speculators hit the commodities market for purely political reasons.

In the case of oil what better way to bring down the economy and sew discontent amongst the voters than to force an outrageous and unnecessary increase on the price of oil. People like George Soros are not stupid people, uncaring, callous, and power hungry yes but stupid no. Would billionaires like Soros really be willing to destroy the world's economy and risk everything for more power in running the governments of the world, yes. Oil always has been and always will be the life blood of every economy. The world depends on oil for everything we produce from medicine, food, electronics, and clothing, to the transportation needs of the world. Take away our oil supply and the world will stop.

For some reason we cannot understand how important and how vital oil has become to mankind's very existence. People refuse to accept or learn from lessons of the past. What really caused our economy to crash was the attack on the oil market. When the price of oil went over $80 a barrel everything went up. Ordinary people went deeper in debt, companies cut back and began loosing money, the government turned a blind eye and allowed the price to continue. Politicians used the downturn in the economy and the high price of oil to promise all kinds of change and better days ahead if only they were elected. Politicians and experts told us new technology would solve our problems by making us less dependent on oil. We heard that before but somehow forgot that without oil new technologies cannot be invented or produced. The same politicians that made these promises never for a minute understood or imagined how much damage the price of oil would have on the future of our economy.

Now that the price of oil is down, miraculously right after the elections ended, what will happen with our economy? Unfortunately the future looks bleak. The new President and Congress will spend like drunken sailors or FDR and create more and more national debt for our children to pay. At some point inflation will hit double digit numbers and taxes will be raised simply to pay the interest on all of the borrowing our government is doing. There will be more people working for the government than private business. Companies and entire industries will be nationalized and eventually we will slip into another Great Depression. Because of the distrust, religious and cultural differences, and outright hatred of the United States by the Islamic world, George Soros and his followers will never see their plan for a One World Economy.

Is this a pessimistic doomsday prediction of times to come? Maybe it is. Can we change it? Probably not. It is true, we reap what we sew. The seeds we sowed in the last election will produce a Chicago style government and nothing we do can stop it. If President Obama should have to step down for any reason what do we have left? President Biden? President Pelosi? I really have to give President Obama congratulations on a well run extraordinary campaign. His time in Chicago has been well spent.

Pelosi Reid Obama Spells Dictatorship

With the election just eight days away the question has become, will American voters vote to transform America into a country ran under the dictatorship of a one party government of Pelosi, Reid and Obama or will we continue to have a balanced two party system.

Recent and past comments by Obama, Reid, Pelosi, Barney Frank, Maxine Walters and Joe Biden are comments that carry one common theme. Taken in totality the comments leave little doubt that the Far Left Democrats are determined to control American business and the free market system. This will be Socialism in its truest form and will lead to a stagnant economy that will threaten the freedom and well being of all Americans.

Senator Biden was right about our enemies abroad. They cannot wait until we are totally controlled by the three Amigos and the Democrat Party. Having a young far left and naive President is something they have been praying for ever since Jimmy Carter was defeated by President Reagan. What our founding fathers feared more than anything else was the day that our three separate and distinct parts of government would be controlled by one single party. They knew this would be the same as declaring the President and leader of the party, King. The very thing our founding fathers risked their lives and freedom to defend against could very well happen in 2009.

When American voters step into the booth they would be wise to ask, what type of country do we want to pass on to our children. Are we willing to sit back and watch as Maxine Walters attempts to nationalize the oil companies (her comment)? Are we willing to allow President Obama to "spread the wealth", as he sees fit? Are we willing to take a chance and face a national crisis and challenge from our enemies, because they want to "test the mettle" of Obama, Biden's comments? Do we really want to reinstate the Fairness Doctrine, basically controlling free speech? Do we want to see ordinary people investigated and their lives destroyed because they asked their public figures a simple question? In short, are we willing to watch as our country, that so many Americans fought and died to defend, slowly but deliberately turns itself into a Socialist State.

This November Americans will be deciding whether or not we will remain the government of the people, by the people, for the people or will we be the government of King Obama and the Three Amigos.

Testing Obama Metal, Joe Biden

As reported by ABC News

"Mark my words," the Democratic vice presidential nominee warned at the second of his two Seattle fundraisers Sunday. "It will not be six months before the world tests Barack Obama like they did John Kennedy. The world is looking. We're about to elect a brilliant 47-year-old senator president of the United States of America. Remember I said it standing here if you don't remember anything else I said. Watch, we're gonna have an international crisis, a generated crisis, to test the mettle of this guy."

The report continued:
"We do not have the military capacity, nor have we ever, quite frankly, in the last 20 years, to dictate outcomes," he cautioned. "It's so much more important than that. It's so much more complicated than that. And Barack gets it."

"I can give you at least four or five scenarios from where it might originate," Biden said to Emerald City supporters, mentioning the Middle East and Russia as possibilities.

" Using the economic down turn and public mistrust of Wall Street the nationalization of the banks and markets in America will be swift. Corporate taxes and taxes on all business in America will reach a new all time high. New tariffs will be placed on companies with plants outside of American borders. If companies don't agree to keep their production facilities within the United States and pay the highest corporate tax in the world, they could see their companies nationalized. This New World Order will be the agenda of a President and Congress intent on Socializing America. They will be following the blueprints and book written by George Soros.

As business reacts to the higher taxes and begin to rebel, Congress will make an example by nationalizing American oil companies and refineries within American borders. As markets around the world continue to have violent reaction to the heavy handed regulations placed upon them by the American Congress, the President will embark upon a new world summit where the markets will be redesigned to fall into the New World Order with George Soros leading the way.

With the world facing another Great Depression and maybe another World War, Europe will capitulate under threats and pressure from Russia, China, Iran and America. The promise of economic stability and world peace will be so great that the idea of a one world economy and monetary system will be a minor price to pay.

In order to reach an economic agreement with the other nations, President Obama will agree to a final solution on the subject of Israel and the Middle East. There will be a timetable agreed to by the Nations involved but neither the agreement or timetable will be made available to the public or Israel. President Obama will be well into his first term before events agreed upon within the agreement begin to take place. Iran pressured by Russia and China will agree to wait until the world's economy has stabilized before acting upon the secret agreement with President Obama.

This is one scenario facing the world and America under the leadership of a President Obama. Whether it is a realistic scenario or not, nobody knows. We do know that "redistribution of wealth" is one of the major tennacles of socialism. We know that Putin is the true power in Russia and he is determined to resurrect the Soviet Union under a Socialist government. We know the leaders in Iran are determined to be a super power in the Middle East and they will not stop until they have gained complete control of the area. They will not rest until they have a nuclear bomb and they are convinced President Obama will not stop them from achieving nuclear capability. We also know China would look upon an Obama Administration as another failed Carter Administration. They know President Obama would never consider a war with China over Taiwan. Negotiations with a country turning away from a capitalist economy to a country embracing socialism are negotiations China has been waiting for."

Was this one of the "at least four or five scenarios" Senator Biden was talking about, only time will tell.
